A Year

A year and more has passed by since I last posted here. Let's face it. I'm not any good at keeping up my blogs anymore. Work is keeping me busy. Work pays the bills. Work keeps me in insurance...which is very handy when you're old(er) like me. LOL.

I will be 60 in January. How in the hell did I get this old so quick?!?  I am actually amazed I've made it to this point. I didn't think I would make it past 46. I won't tell you why but I thought that for a long time. My whole 46th year I was on pins and needles.  So to make it another 14 is awesome. I just wish I knew when my expiration date was/is...so I could plan for it. :) I should plan anyways. Nothing like waiting until the last minute huh? I just need to quit spending money. LOL. Right.

So, I haven't been doing much crochet, much sewing, much wood burning. Those are my 3 hobbies. If I was retired I would be doing more of all three. According to my calculations it will be another 4 or 5 years before that happens unless I get to my expiration date before. I am definitely looking forward to that time in my life......where I don't have to get up and go to work anymore. I can get up and do what I want to do, when I want to do it.

Anyways......hope your days are filled with love and laughter.

Still Lost? :0)

Well, I guess so, it would seem.

I have been working (a normal, kind of, job). So that has taken me away from my crochet and all things crochet related. My hours have relaxed a lot so maybe I can now crochet again.

I have been working on a few things. I really need to get in gear and get a bunch of hats made. Fall is right around the corner. And FINALLY I ordered some labels for my crochet to sell. They turned out well. I tried to sew them on a few hats with my machine, and that ain't happening! My hats are too thick. So by hand it is.

The top one is sewed by hand, the bottom is sewed on my machine. No brainer. :)

The lighting in this pic made the colors washed out. They are mahogany and coffee, and beautiful and rich looking in person. The yarn is a Lion Brand Wool blend of 20% wool and 80% acrylic and a  #5 weight. It is super thick and warm.

This is my third attempt at my WingedHeart. What say you? :) I love it!
This is currently on my hook. It's a CAL on FB called Wildflower Bag. I love it. It will be lined. I currently am on the straps. I've decided to change it from what she has....rings on either end and one strap. (Does that surprise you?) I am going to do two straps, one on each side. I have the bottom, the straps and the lining to finish it. I'm hoping to sell it, but if not then I will use it. I see another one or two of these in the future. And of course I changed the yarn originally in the pattern to #3 with a D hook. The size it will end up to be will be perfect. Not too small, not too big. The only hard part to this is crocheting with black. My eyes are not what they used to be so it's hard to see the stitches. I'm hoping to have this finished by week end.

So there you have it, what I've been up to. Hopefully your life, since the last time I posted, is full of love and laughter. See you soon!

The Land of The Lost

That would be me.........wouldn't you say? I've been lost for quite a while now.

Life got seriously in the way and I kind of lost interest in blogging. I didn't have a whole lot to say.  For a while I lost interest in crochet too. Apparently I am not the only one to have this happen to. Which means that I am somewhat normal. Phew! That's good to know. :)

Anyways, I have done some crocheting in the lost time period. I do get spurts that I crochet like crazy. Although a couple of months ago my right hand started giving me fits with arthritis and I had to quit for a bit. It is what it is. I do what I can when I can. Most of what I've done is hats. That's what I do best. So I have several totes with hats. I plan on pushing them when the weather starts cooling down again. I've made some to donate. I've made some with skulls on them, and I've made one that I love with a huge spider with red beaded eyes that I love.

Here are a few little things I've accomplished:
Skulls in #3 thread. I just ordered some more colors. Can't wait til they get here.

I love this color combo. It's a purse/bag made of cotton yarn. It needs a lining in it.

Here we go again. I don't understand. I saved the pic the correct way and it turned on me. :(

These are earrings for a special order. She already has the hoops from the ones I made her previously. She can change them out with these.

And last but not least are plant hangers that I made and use myself. I have quite a few done for sale in different colors. It's best to show them in use. The green/blue/white one has shorter straps on it than the pink one. This is a 14 and a the pink is a 20 (how many rows to create the straps).

Anyways, this is a smattering of what I've been up to. More to come. I promise. :o)

Owl Tote

First post for this blog since I created it months ago. What can I say...I am slow with some things. Good things come to those who wait.....oh, wait....lol.....that would be you, waiting on me.  :0\

So....what I have today is a tote for a friend's husband that will give it to her for Mothers Day.

I had shared a pic on FB and he saw it. The pattern came from https://www.etsy.com/shop/thehatandi - The Hat & I's etsy shop. The pictures are deceiving. It is larger than what you think. It took finishing the first motif to figure that out. Oh well, it is a tote for heaven's sake! So here are a few of the finished motifs. I have all of the parts crocheted, now I just have to put them together and then it will be time for the lining.

Enjoy! I will be back later with more on this project.
